Company dinners, joint client meetings, or family gatherings of 8-12 people cannot be accommodated in standard 4-person dining establishments. Among Gangnam hanwoo restaurants, those reliably operating separate rooms for 8 or more people are few. K has personally verified the separate room operations of 8 Gangnam hanwoo establishments, presented in this group seating matrix.

6-8 Person Seating — Standard Group Seating
6-8 people is the standard group room unit for Gangnam hanwoo restaurants. Seolyagalbi Cheongdam’s 6-person room is straightforward with automatic capacity assignment. Samwon Garden Main Branch operates a hanok room structure accommodating up to 8 people. Bongpyeong can accommodate up to 8, but its curtain-style semi-private setup means some conversation from adjacent tables can be heard. For group seating where ambiance is critical, Seolyagalbi and Samwon Garden are priorities. For detailed corkage policies, refer to Seolyagalbi Cheongdam Corkage Policy Summary.
10-12 Person Seating — Company Large Groups & Family Large Groups
Company department dinners (10+ people) or 3-generation family gatherings of 12 require larger rooms. Samwon Garden Main Branch naturally accommodates up to 12 in its private hanok room. Hanwoo Boutique Gangnam operates a separate VIP room (12-person capacity). Byeokje Galbi The Cheongdam has a 10-person room, but incurs an additional fee. Jeong Sikdang Cheongdam, being a Korean fine dining course establishment, charges a separate setup fee for group operations. For company gatherings, Hanwoo Boutique and Samwon Garden are suitable; for family gatherings, Samwon Garden is the standard.
Differences in Soundproofing & Separation Level
- Fully Private + 5-point Soundproofing (complete room wall barrier): Seolyagalbi Cheongdam, Samwon Garden, Hanwoo Boutique, Jeong Sikdang
- Fully Private + 4-point Soundproofing (some sound leakage): Byeokje Galbi The Cheongdam, Hanuso
- Semi-Private (curtain/partition): Bongpyeong
- No Hall Seating Separation (casual): Mongtan
For client meetings with executives, 5-point soundproofing is essential. For family gatherings, 4 points or higher is acceptable. For casual friend gatherings, establishments with 3 points or less are also viable.
Tips for Hosting Group Seating
- Book 2-3 weeks in advance — Rooms for 10+ people fill up quickly.
- Utilize Catchtable memo field — Clearly state “group headcount, nature of gathering, private room essential.”
- Agree on per-person cost beforehand — Per-person cost can fluctuate ±20% for group seating.
- Organize valet service — Pre-coordinate valet assistance for multiple vehicles.
- Simplify courses — For group seating, operating with a single course for all accelerates service flow.
- Centralize payment — Host makes a single payment, take a photo of the receipt for reporting.
